Spicy Cayenne Brownies

Who doesn’t love desserts? When I am craving dessert I don’t want it to be too sweet, brownies are a great option. They can be very versatile, different kinds of chocolate chips, walnuts, fruit, the list keeps going. I started thinking about all my favorite sweet and spicy food, always a balanced pair, and thought why not try adding heat to brownies?

Cayenne Peppers have sweet notes of flavor. They are on the lower level of the heat scale, between 30,000 and 50,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Not only do these peppers have health benefits but so does chocolate, win-win! Rich chocolate and gooey center, the sweet melted chocolate chips, the pepper powder really sets these brownies apart from any others I have tried in the past.

Brownies are great and easy to share at office parties, snack time, or a late-night snack. One thing is sure this will be a dessert you won’t be likely to forget and can be prepped and baked in less than an hour! Serve with a few scoops of vanilla ice cream or a cold glass of milk. The dairy will help with the rich chocolate as well as provide relief if things get to heated.
